PRESS BRAKE OPERATOR

Protech currently have a great opportunity for the right candidate to join the team as Press Brake Operator.

This position would be ideal for somebody who has good knowledge of forming products on a CNC Press Brake and familiar with stainless steel products. When not programming there would be other roles expected to assist the sheet metal work in completing operations such as drilling, rolling, punching etc. This offers the right candidate a role where every day can throw up fresh challenges and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reporting directly to the shop floor foreman, working within a highly motivated team
• Programming press brake system
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Involvement in the improvement of the manufacturing methods of our wide range of products
• Continuing to maintain a high standard of producing parts efficiently and to our high-quality standards
• Complying with Protech’s health and safety policies and procedures

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• The ability to work on your own initiative to solve problems and also work as part of a team

• Experience of operating a Press Brake, training will be given to the successful candidate

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (3D CAD – Solid Edge / Solidworks)

3D CAD Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience of Siemans Solid Edge or Solidworks required by innovative Bedford based sheet metal organisation. This is a great opportunity to join an established firm that specialises in providing stainless steel solutions for food production companies, in a position that has arisen from expansion due to continued excellent company performance and year on year growth.

In this exciting role, the successful candidate will liaise with clients to identify customer requirements and turn these into a stainless steel design which will include specifications and development of new projects and components. As Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be required to produce and modify detailed designs drawings and 3D Images using the SolidEdge or Solidworks Software.

The position is office based with occasional site visits and you will be working in a team of 3. The role requires the individual to work with some key clients in what is an integral role within the business so it is essential you have experience of dealing with the end clients and enhance relationships.

Essential skills and experience:

• A solid background of 3D CAD Design skill - 3+ years
• Siemans Solid Edge or Solidworks – 2+ years
• Experience of performing a similar role in a Machinery or Sheet Metal industry
• Liaise direct with customers to ascertain requirements
• Design, specification and development of new projects and components based on direct customer requirements
• Excellent clear communication and relationship building skills

SHEET METAL FABRICATOR

Currently recruiting for a Sheet Metal Worker for an innovative Bedford based sheet metal organisation. This is a great opportunity to join an established firm that specialises in providing stainless steel solutions for food production companies.

Key role and responsibilities for this role:

• For the role of Sheet Metal Worker, you will be creating stainless steel parts for machinery based in the food industry
• A large part of the work will be the ability to use the Press Brake system for folding sheet metal parts
• All aspects of sheet metal work and fabrication will be involved

• You must have proven previous working experience as a Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator
