Board System
Protech Food Systems has recently and successfully completed a major installation into Brisbane Australia. Providing a mechanical solution to the complex issue of red meat primal traceability.
After thoroughly researching the subject a decision was made to use RFID technologies to control the system and at the same time provide real time management information back to the customer.
Design meetings took place at both Protech's offices in Bedfordshire and at the customer's headquarters in Brisbane.
The use of video conferencing enabled an accurate flow of information between all parties involved in the project.
Common Autocad layout X-refs were used as the link for the equipment positioning, as it was essential to maintain a level of design flexibility within the project.
This process was invaluable in bringing together the plant and architectural elements of design and it was important to maintain a precise datum for both the equipment manufacture and the factory construction engineers.
Protech design engineers provided ongoing three-dimensional plan and elevation information, which allowed all construction and architectural engineers along with customer appointed site contractors to see the project information at a glance.
Any issues of measurement conflict between flooring and walling contractors were dealt with immediately as this was key to the successful completion of the project.

The system was designed and developed by a team of in house engineers using the highly regarded 3D Solid Edge CAD package.
After manufacturing the equipment in Bedford it was shipped by sea freight in 14 forty-foot containers over a period of five weeks.
Two teams of Protech installation engineers were on site to receive the containers as they arrived and by careful planning were able to install the equipment in a highly controlled sequence.
In order to satisfy the customer need to meet production for the Christmas period the equipment had to be commissioned by the latter part of October 04.
